Interview follows announcement of a $2.8M scheme to help law firms adopt technology
This follows the news about the new Tech Start for Law Scheme jointly announced by the Ministry of Law and the Law Society of Singapore just after the Singapore Budget 2017 a week earlier. The scheme will fund up to 70 per cent of the first-year’s cost for technology products in practice management, online research and online marketing for Singapore law firms. The scheme is targeted at the 850 small and medium law firms (with 5 or fewer lawyers).
Only 9% of small and medium-sized law firms have adopted technology
A recent study commissioned by the Law Society of Singapore showed only 9 per cent of the small- and medium-sized firms here used technology-enabled productivity tools. These are precisely the firms who can benefit from the adoption of technology. The scheme is intended to help encourage these firms to improve their productivity by adopting new technologies. Read more about the scheme in a feature by the Straits Times HERE.
