I began my career as a litigator, appearing in civil, matrimonial and criminal proceedings. After 7 years of looking at various issues from a litigation angle, I decided to acquire a business operational perspective by undertaking a corporate counsel role. As corporate counsel, I had oversight of legal issues traversing general corporate, industry regulations and day-to-day operations. These included advising, negotiating and drafting documentation related to finance, investment, joint venture, IP, real estate as well as diverse supplies and services contracts. Participation in transactions was end-to-end, requiring constant contact with management and collaboration from day one with colleagues from commercial, technical, investment, finance, audit and corporate communications. My last in-house portfolio included support for Singapore Power’s Treasury and Properties departments as well as some of its subsidiaries - Singapore District Cooling, SP Tel and SP Services. I hope to leverage on my litigation background and understanding of business operational issues when advising clients. Brief Personal Background In the early years (defined as prior to graduation from law school), I was an avid sportsman who enjoyed regular games of football and hockey. Whilst retaining a keen eye in sports, I now enjoy the more leisurely pursuits of reading up on current affairs and catching up with friends over golf, drinks and the ancient game of mahjong.
